So, I took my daughter into @swishdurham today bec So, I took my daughter into @swishdurham today because she saw some sneakers on their insta story she wanted. Being the sneaker enthusiast that she is, she quickly realized the box was a “rep box” (not the original box). To the average person this does not matter, I get it. I asked the salesperson about the box and his response to me was, “you don’t wear the box”. Of course I politely let his “rude behind” know that I was well aware that people do not wear the boxes on their feet. The funny thing is as he was making this smart comment to me, my daughter was telling me she would be fine with the rep box. At that point it did not matter. I refuse to spend my hard earned money in places where employees are rude and disrespectful. Employers, you are losing money I’m sure would benefit your bottom line by not encouraging your employees to respect customers. I decided to post this because this is not the first time I have had such an experience in @swishdurham. In fact, I stopped going for a while but caved to my daughter’s desire to get the sneakers she wanted. @swishdurham do better! Treat all of your customers with dignity and respect! During the pandemic, Gabby kept trying to convince During the pandemic, Gabby kept trying to convince me to start a sneaker reselling business with her. Of course I did not take her seriously. I was too busy blogging and writing my books. Doing “adult stuff”! Eventually I entertained her idea by purchasing a couple pair of sneakers. Needless to say, they sat in our apartment for several months until I finally said “I want my money back”🤣. I wasn’t taking Gabby’s idea seriously, so she had become disheartened. So, we packed the sneakers up and put them in the car with the hopes of me just being able to regain my investment. We rode around with them in the car for several days because I didn’t want to take the time to take her to try and sell the sneakers. One day we met a college student who was into reselling. He immediately purchased all of the sneakers we were riding around with and we walked away with a small profit. Watching Gabby interact with this young man (and the profit we made 🤣)led to a dinner conversation between me, Ally, and Gabby about the possibility of making this a true business venture. At that dinner, on March 16, 2021, T.A.G. TEAM KICKS was born. WHO KNEW I would be immersing myself into the world of kicks, hypebeasts, youtube, sneakercon, sneaker drops, meet ups, releases, etc. Despite the fact that I still have a lot to learn, I am super excited about this venture. It has allowed me to connect with 2 of my daughters in a way that I would have never imagined simply because I opened myself to their thoughts and ideas instead of always pushing mine. Gabby was not going to become empowered by reading my blog. That simply is not her thing. But, I think helping her to excel in a world that she loves will be empowering. Quite honestly, I feel empowered as I learn something completely new. We are so thankful to those that are already super supporters of T.A.G. TEAM KICKS! In May, my middle daughter @_lovely__lyssa_ graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, MIchael Jordan’s Alma Mater, so I think it would only be appropriate if @nike features her on Kick Check rocking her University Blue Jordan 1’s!😊 #SNKRSKickCheck
