Glass 1/2 Full: Five Things I Accomplished In 2020

Tonza Ruffin

I love making New Years Resolutions. It is my way of setting my intentions and holding myself accountable for my year ahead. This year my resolutions will come in the form of a vision board.

As the year comes to a close, I rarely take the time to appreciate all of the things that I have experienced or accomplished. 2020, and approaching 50 years of age, have altered the way I approach life. So, I wanted to take a moment before setting my future goals to appreciate some of my 2020 accomplishments.

Here are Five:

Traveled to Spain with my middle child

I do not own the rights to this music. I just love Jill Scott’s music 🙂

Sold my home in Windsor, North Carolina

Having a clean slate to start over was so liberating for me.

Moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina

After being a resident of eastern North Carolina for twenty years, my decision to finally take the leap and relocate was significant.

Completed and published Always and Forever My Love

My first novel, my fifth book! 🙂

Began a consistent workout routine

I realized how much taking care of my physical self impacted my mental well being. I’m also going for the 50 is the new 30 look 🙂

So, there are my five! Take a moment to think about and appreciate all that you have accomplished in 2020. And then, make 2021 GREAT!

Much Love,

Tonza

Perfectly Imperfect but VERY PROUD WOMAN, MOM, LAWYER, and AUTHOR, but most importantly...LIFE LOVER! I laugh loud, I work hard, I play hard, I am adventurous, I am curious, I am driven, I have moments of deep insecurity, I am loving, I am vulnerable, I am explosive (not one of my finer qualities), I dance around my house alone, I am an awful perfectionist which makes my insecurity worse, I sing out loud in my car without any concern for whose watching, I have trust issues, I do not live through my children, I no longer try to force my children into the mold that I created so that I could feel validated as a mother, I am a risk-taker, I am guarded in my personal life, I am kind, I am grateful. I am so excited about the rest of my life!
