Fawn Weaver Says Do It With Excellence Or Don’t Do It At All

Fawn Weaver

As the fog lifted and I slowly realized that I had been living under a rock for several months, I decided to return to one of my favorite pastimes, podcasts. Trying to expand my horizons, I searched for and included some new podcasts in my library. While some of the topics were intriguing, I found myself returning time and time again to two of my favorites, On Purpose with Jay Shetty and 9 to 5ish with the Skimm

I had read a little about Fawn Weaver while skimming through some magazines, so I was excited to take a listen to the 9 to 5ish episode where Fawn Weaver talked about Building Company Culture.

It wasn’t that she was providing unique advice on growing or running a business. It was that I could feel her unapologetically badass, no-nonsense energy as she explained her family-centered approach to running a number of successful companies. As my daughter’s basketball coach says, “let me tell you something,” I am so glad I tuned in to hear what Fawn Weaver had to say.

Fawn Weaver is a serial entrepreneur who proves that limiting oneself is not necessary as you seek success.

In 2010, she founded Grant Sidney, Inc., a privately held investment company. After learning the story of Nathan Green, in 2017, Fawn Weaver went on to found the Nearest Green Distillery and the Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey making her the first African-American woman to head a major spirits brand. In 2019 she opened the first Uncle Nearest distillery in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Everything around me centers around love, around honor, around respect.

In addition to building and running successful corporations, Fawn Weaver is, you guessed it, an author.

She has written two books about marriage; Happy Wives Club: One Woman’s Worldwide Search for the Secrets of a Great Marriage and The Argument-Free Marriage: 28 Days to Creating the Marriage You’ve Always Wanted with the Spouse You Already Have.

Hats off to this woman who is showing the world that you are only limited if you allow yourself to be limited.

Tune in and check out Fawn Weaver on 9 to 5ish with the Skimm and tell me if you agree!

Published by Tonza D. Ruffin

Perfectly Imperfect but VERY PROUD WOMAN, MOM, LAWYER, and AUTHOR, but most importantly...LIFE LOVER! I laugh loud, I work hard, I play hard, I am adventurous, I am curious, I am driven, I have moments of deep insecurity, I am loving, I am vulnerable, I am explosive (not one of my finer qualities), I dance around my house alone, I am an awful perfectionist which makes my insecurity worse, I sing out loud in my car without any concern for whose watching, I have trust issues, I do not live through my children, I no longer try to force my children into the mold that I created so that I could feel validated as a mother, I am a risk-taker, I am guarded in my personal life, I am kind, I am grateful. I am so excited about the rest of my life!
