It’s here! My published short story, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, is now available for purchase through the Kindle Store and it only cost $1.99.
I wrote this series of short stories because I wanted to do my part to continue the conversation about domestic violence. I must say my inspiration came from a woman that I have known for quite a few years, Tanesha Ash-Shakoor. She is extremely passionate about raising awareness and providing resources and support for victims of Domestic Violence. I absolutely love her energy!
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.
National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
I hope BEHIND CLOSED DOORS reminds people that domestic violence is not limited to a specific socio-economic class.
Domestic violence is prevalent in every community, and affects all people regardless of age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality.
National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
I hope BEHIND CLOSED DOORS reminds the reader that children raised in abusive households are affected.
Intimate partner violence accounts for 15% of all violent crime.
National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
I hope BEHIND CLOSED DOORS disrupts and disturbs you enough that you will talk about it, thus continuing the conversation.
1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

A special thank you to Erica Perry-Green of Shero Publishing for giving me a platform to share all of these stories in my head with the world. Also, a big thank you to Alexander Spring of TypeRight Editing for his editing expertise.
Got my copy. What a totally open and tremendous inside to a horrific situation. All women need to realize, one it’s not their fault, two there not alone, and three, there is help.
Exactly! Thank you for reading and beginning the conversation on this site. Your support is greatly appreciated!
