This is for all of the women out there like me trying to figure out how to take care of themselves so that they can accomplish all of the things on their life to-do list. I don’t know about you, but now that I am comfortable in my skin, I need it to last so that I can do all of the things that I want to do before my time on this earth is up. Well, if not all, most! I recently told two of my daughters that I wanted to be happily married for 50 years. If you could have been a fly on the wall! You would have laughed until you cried as you watched my daughters process and grapple with which one of them was going to break the news -I might be overreaching a little (I am 50, and I do not even have a boyfriend) and I should probably aim for something like 25 years of wedded bliss. They might be correct, but there is nothing wrong with dreaming a little 🙂
I have been asking myself a lot lately, “how do I take better care of myself so that I will have an opportunity to continue to live my best life?” I have concluded that my regimen to longevity and vitality will be an inside-out regimen. How I feel emotionally is the key to a healthy, happy life. When I feel good, I am in a better mental space. This allows me to make better decisions about what I need to do to care for the body that has been given to me. Knowing this has helped me to figure out when I am the happiest. It is when:
- I am able to create
- I am able to explore and experience new things
- I am organized
- I laugh a lot
Take a moment to ask yourself, “when am I the happiest?” Write those things down. And then try to figure out how to make sure you are intentionally trying to incorporate more of those things in your life.
A couple of weeks ago someone shared this footage with me. It inspired me to continue to live my best life. I hope it inspires you.
