When COVID first hit and we were required to stay at home, I was probably a little too excited. I was burned out and saw the opportunity as a way to restore myself… That was in March! April, I was still enjoying my time at home! May still enjoying! By June, I was starting to feel a little antsy. By July, I was missing human connection and the ability to roam the world freely. I had a serious case of the blues. Despite my blues, I am not willing to risk my health by hopping on a plane or having a full-on party to ease my loneliness. I do believe COVID is real, and I do believe that it can kill you. So, I had to get creative.
Here are 5 things I do to help combat the COVID blues.

Take A Walk
The hardest part is convincing myself to do it. Once I get past that, IT IS ON. Walking always makes me feel better mentally. NOT TO MENTION, there are tremendous health benefits to walking! Such as, a reduction in cardiovascular disease and blood pressure.
Binge Watch TV shows
Sometimes all you can do to make yourself feel better is curl up on your couch and immerse yourself in other people’s worlds. These shows allowed me to do just that! I went from being a drug lord to being a french talent agent!

Clean/Declutter
I love to clean when I am feeling any emotional upheaval. It is very calming, allows me to think, and I feel so much better when I see the end result of one of my cleaning frenzies! “How You Keep Your Space Is A Reflection Of Who You Are”.

Daydream
Yes, I am a daydreamer! I love to dream about the way I want my life to be. I often picture myself living a happy, carefree life as I continue to experience life to the fullest by doing things that I enjoy. While I call this thing that I do daydreaming, many experts call it visualization. And guess what, there appear to be some benefits to daydreaming/visualizing.

Have a Glass of Wine
Not a bottle, but a glass! Or two 🙂
